Project: Skilling Tourism Sector for Sustainable Employment Project

Objectives: Cater to changing needs of the tourism sector by training young people through innovative models including apprenticeship, employment, and space sharing to enhance their employability.

Sector: Tourism

The Skilling Tourism Sector for Sustainable Employment (STSE) Project, implemented by Brilliant Manpower Training Center (BMTC) Private Limited, aims to pilot a new partnership model with private sector employers and to innovative PPP models like apprenticeship and employment; and space sharing model for developing skills for the job seekers and capacitate the hospitality industry owners.

The project plans to carry out training activities by establishing Apprenticeship and Employment coordination committee (AECC) in Kaski and Chitwan and Space Sharing coordination committee (SSCC) in Kaski, Tanahun and Lamjung. The programme will give young people in respective districts job ready skills through a combination of hands-on experience of improved hospitality techniques, improved curricula and instruction from CTVET and the line Ministry.

At a strategic level, the programme not only seeks to directly transform the employment potential of a cohort of rural young people, but also to identify gaps in current CTVET skills training for the hospitality and tourism sector and strengthen partnerships between the relevant associations, private sector companies and training providers.

-       “Career Guidance and Counselling session organised for the potential trainees supported them to decide them about their career, training need and employment opportunities. This also has helped to change students’ attitude toward work.” Mr. Karuna Nidhi Gyawali, Team Leader
